PVL - Premier Volleyball League
PVL, as the heading states, is an acronym for Premier Volleyball League: a volleyball competition where pro volleyball players compete under certain teams. Volleyball fans anticipate this volleyball tournament every year since they are able to watch their idols on the court.
Companies who wish to participate will look for pro volleyball players to play for their team's name. These teams are called club teams. The club teams that participated in the recent premier volleyball league are Akari Chargers, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Cignal HD Spikers, Creamline Cool Smashers, Petro Gazz Angels, PLDT Home Fibr High-Speed Hitters, F2 Logistic Cargo Movers, Farm Fresh Foxies, Gerflor Defenders, Foton Tornadoes, Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh, and Kurashiki Ablaze. With a total of 13 teams, two of the latter are club teams from Vietnam and Japan, respectively.
This tournament has four kinds: Open conference, reinforce conference, all-Filipino conference, and invitational conference. The open conference is where Filipino volleyball players, including those who play in the UAAP, compete on certain teams. Reinforce conference is the time when PVL teams invite foreign pro volleyball players to play for their respective teams. All Filipino conference is exclusive only to pro-Filipino volleyball players, and the Invitational Conference is when foreign club teams are included on the list of teams who will compete for the championship.
PVL Championship 2023
The league opens the floor in June 2023, and all teams start to showcase their months of training and hard work, treating the courts as their battlefield. The classification round started on July 20, 2023. On this date, Foton defeated Gerflor and Petro Gazz defeated Akari, putting Petro Gazz in the 9th spot, Akari in the 10th, Foton in the 11th, and Gerflor in the 12th.
As days go by and the league enters the month of July, all of the teams start to heat up to be entitled "semifinalists". However, only the chosen teams that have won enough games are entitled to that spot. These teams are Kurashiki Ablaze (Japan), Creamline Cool Smashers, Cignal HD Spikers, F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters, and Kinh Bắc-Bắc Ninh (Vietnam).
On July 20, 2023, the semifinals begin. Cignal defeated PLDT, and Creamline defeated F2. The results for the semifinals and classification rounds are as follows:
- July 20, 2023:
- Classification: Foton (11th) defeated Gerflor (12th), and Petro Gazz (9th) defeated Akari (10th).
- Semi-finals: Cignal defeated PLDT
- July 22, 2023:
- Classification: Choco Mucho (7th) defeated Chery Tiggo (8th).
- Semi-finals: PLDT defeated F2, Creamline defeated Cignal, and Kurashiki defeated Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh
- July 24, 2023
- Semi-finals: Kurashiki defeated Cignal, and PLDT defeated Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh
- July 25, 2023:
- Creamline defeated Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh, Kurashiki Ablaze defeated F2.
- July 27, 2023
- Kurashiki Ablaze defeated PLDT, and Cignal defeated Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh
- July 28, 2023
- F2 Logistics defeated Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh, Kurashiki Ablaze defeated Creamline.
- July 30, 2023
- Cignal defeated F2, and Kurashiki Ablaze defeated Creamline.
The final standings are F2 Logistics, Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh, Kurashiki Ablaze, Creamline, PLDT, and Cignal. The games on Jul 28, 2023, start with Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh defeating F2 on the first round with the score of 25 23 respectively. On the same day, Creamline had a bad headstart against Kurashiki, scoring 20 and 25 in the first set. The final games were held on July 30, 2023, with Kurashiki Ablaze defeating the Creamline, granting them the gold award and taking the title of "champions" of that season's tournament.

Life as a Pro Volleyball Player
Diverting the topic from the hectic volleyball tournament, pro volleyball players' lives do not only revolve around playing, training, taking part, and competing on a daily basis. They also have their side, where they live just like ordinary people; like everyone else. Celine Domingo and her team are always active on their social media accounts, making relevant content and giving their followers information about their life updates. However, as a professional volleyball player, training and competing are also quite exhausting, especially living in a bustling city like Manila. The best way for her to ease her mind and relax is to have a nice and comfy home.
Celine lives alone in a Vista Residence two-bedroom unit. In her condo, she wakes up to a nice view every morning and a comfortable, spacious living space to do the things she wants. Her condo is pet-friendly, which is significant for her as she owns a pet dog that helps her reduce stress. Since she lives alone and does not need another bedroom, she turned it into a walk-in closet. She also cooks her own meals since it is not economical to order them all the time.
