Condo Living: How to Get Back on Track After Your Productivity Crashes

Jan 10, 2022

Do you ever feel as though time is passing you by? You're not alone, though.

Many of us wish we had a few more hours in the day to complete the tasks at hand. That’s why sometimes we tend to have our productivity crash because we get overwhelmed by many responsibilities. Unfortunately, there is no method to add extra hours to the day magically. You may, however, learn to reclaim the time you do have.

How? By improving your attention and working style, you can increase productivity and make the most of your condo living experience every day. To assist you, Vista Residences has compiled a list of simple strategies to reclaim your productivity and get back on track in time for 2022.

Assess and deal with internal triggers

The first lesson is that a distraction is not the same thing as the object itself. A mobile phone, for example, is not the distraction; the distraction is how we respond to it. We develop the habit of being distracted to avoid suffering. Once you understand what motivates your behavior, you may make changes to address it.

It's difficult not to give in to the distraction. Our minds continue to crave it, especially if we're too caught up in the condo living dream. However, to overcome distractions, we must learn to deal with discomfort. And a crucial difference should be made here: the aim is not mental abstinence (trying not to think about the distraction); repressing ideas will just lead them to return to your brain.

Prioritize Your Tasks

Always begin your workday by making a list of your activities and categorizing them. Determine which activities require greater attention and which have strict deadlines. Create a methodical approach to your everyday duties. Shuffling through your condo living chores will always leave you with a disturbing head; you will have accomplished nothing at the end of the day. Simply take your time and prioritize.

Try out the Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management technique created in the 1980s by Francesco Cirillo. It is effective in breaking down long periods of work into short, manageable intervals and then giving appropriate breaks between each interval.

The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. These intervals are called “Pomodoros,” and the breaks are called "Pausa" (Italian for "break"). The idea is that after four Pomodoros (four 25-minute work sprints), one can take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes for mental rest.

Working on and off so regularly may appear irrational at first, but evidence backs it up. It works by giving the brain what it craves when it becomes tired: a condo living respite. However, you restrict that break in order to avoid wasting time.

Make time for growth

This method prioritizes and then devotes attention to the most critical tasks. Making a to-do list isn't enough; you also need to arrange time in your calendar to focus on certain tasks; otherwise, you're planning the output rather than the input.

When scheduling time, keep in mind the three life domains: yourself, your work, and your relationships. This can assist you in developing a framework for how you will spend your time, which may be especially beneficial if you are working from home full-time due to the COVID-19 epidemic and are struggling to establish a condo living routine that works for you. No matter how you plan your day, make time for yourself first, or your other two life domains — job and relationships — will suffer.

Organize similar tasks together

We naturally produce friction when we transition between jobs. Beginning and ending. Closing and opening. Beginning and conclusion. All of those tiny moments build up and cause us to lose focus. Then we become sidetracked and lose sight of why we were examining anything in the first place.

However, grouping comparable jobs together is a good approach to reduce moving between them. Don't just answer one email and then move on. Respond to all of them and then return to that work for a few hours later on. Alternatively, you may group all of your emails together. With this, you’ll see an improvement not just in your productivity but also in your condo living experience.

Refresh your mind

Physicians say that a healthy, fresh mind is capable of doing practically anything. That’s why exercising is one technique to clear your thoughts. So, start your routine with a condo living workout. Regular activity, such as running, will get your blood moving.

After you've finished exercising, you'll realize that you're more alert and have a clearer approach to the responsibilities ahead of you. Make it a habit to exercise first thing in the morning. This simple practice will cause you to see changes in your performance and improve your productivity in the long run.

Get enough sleep

There is a correlation between sleep and productivity. A study found that those who sleep well typically get more done. It has been said that sleeping well helps the brain repair itself and process memories. There are even times when people can't seem to stay awake after an all-nighter and still carry out simple tasks.

The connection between sleep and work productivity is not just anecdotal. Studies have shown how lack of sleep affects the brain’s cognitive functions, such as memory and creativity, which can lead to reduced productivity. It has also been shown that those who do not get enough rest feel less engaged with their work as they feel like they are constantly on the edge of exhaustion, leading them to make more errors or go off task more often than those who have slept well.

Keep track of your progress

You might think that you don’t need to track your progress. You might think that you are doing well and not need to check how much time you spend on what. But, just like any other work, it is better to be organized.

It will help you manage your tasks more efficiently, experience less stress, and understand how much time you are spending on specific tasks. Tracking your progress is important in the journey of having better productivity while enjoying the condo living life.

Getting back on track starts with you

Productivity is a critical factor in determining how successful you are in life. You can be very successful, but if you don't have the productivity to match it, you won't be able to keep up. Productivity starts with you.

It's important to know what your goals are and what your strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to productivity. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. Maybe your weaknesses are focus or motivation, so instead of trying to force yourself into tackling tasks that don't fit your strengths, try focusing on tasks that do work for you.
