We just want to take a rest, have a vacation abroad and cross out a country that is listed in our to-go bucket list. Why is it so hard to book an international flight? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international traveling is now a struggle. We all now know that certain individuals may be unable to freely book tickets and travel around the world.
However, bring up those sullen shoulders because there are now numerous countries that are now open to vaccinated—some also accept unvaccinated—tourists! Is this the sign that this pandemic situation is now getting better?
Here are ten of the well-known countries that have already announced to open borders for tourism for vaccinated travelers (as of February 2022).
Canada
Canada has now reopened its border and is now accepting incoming international flights for fully vaccinated travelers from most countries.
Entry requirements:
- Negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at least 3 days prior to before arrival in the country
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country (all travelers must upload their vaccine certificates in an app called ArriveCAN)
- If you are eligible, you will no longer need to quarantine upon arrival
England
The UK is now also open for vaccinated visitors from most countries to travel to England.
Entry requirements:
- Fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to take any COVID-19 travel tests. However, you need to take a COVID-19 PCR test taken 2 days prior to arrival in the country if you are not fully vaccinated
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- Upon arrival, everyone who is not fully vaccinated will be tested and are required to quarantine until they receive their negative results (which usually takes about 24 hours) but if you are fully vaccinated, this is no longer needed
Finland
Finland is open to fully vaccinated tourists from all countries. However, unvaccinated visitors are strictly not permitted to enter unless for essential reasons.
Entry requirements:
- Vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country. Only those who received the last dose of Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Sinopharm, and COVISHIELD or CoronaVac vaccine will be accepted. Vaccines that are not mentioned are not eligible
France
Depending on the visitor’s country of departure, you can now enter the borders of France and take sight of the famous Eiffel tower.
Entry requirements:
- Vaccine passport and a vaccine certificate, showing that you have completed all doses of vaccine at least 14 days before entering the country. This includes a booster dose of RNA vaccine for persons aged 18 or older.
- Upon arrival, everyone will be tested and are required to quarantine until they receive their negative results (which usually takes about 24 hours).
Greece
If you have written Greece on your travel bucket list, then we have good news for you—you can now book an international flight and pay a visit to the beauty of this country.
Entry requirements:
- Negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at least 3 days prior to arrival in the country
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- Upon arrival, everyone will be tested and are required to quarantine until they receive their negative results (which usually takes about 24 hours)
Ireland
You can also take a look at Ireland’s breathtaking landscape and beautiful small villages. Just ready all your requirements and you’re now good to go.

- Fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to take any COVID-19 travel tests. However, you need to take a COVID-19 PCR test taken 2 days prior to arrival in the country if you are not fully vaccinated
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- Upon arrival, everyone who is not fully vaccinated will be tested and are required to quarantine until they receive their negative results (which usually takes about 24 hours) but if you are fully vaccinated, this is no longer needed
Italy
Italy is open for tourism to multiple countries, and fully vaccinated travelers are now allowed to enter its borders.
Entry requirements:
- Fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to take any COVID-19 travel tests. However, you need to take a COVID-19 PCR test taken 2 days prior to arrival in the country if you are not fully vaccinated
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- Upon arrival, everyone who is not fully vaccinated or failed to produce a valid vaccination certificate will have to self-isolate on arrival for 5 days and undergo PCR or rapid antigen test once they finish their quarantine. If you are fully vaccinated, this is no longer needed
Singapore
Singapore is one of the destinations that tourists most want to explore or visit, and this COVID-19 pandemic makes it hard for us. However, worry no more because open for dully vaccinated visitors from a number of countries.
Entry requirements:
- Negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at least a day prior before arrival in the country
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- Upon arrival, everyone will be tested and are required to quarantine until they receive their negative results (which usually takes about 24 hours.
Spain
You can now visit and enjoy the view of Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, and any other city of Spain because the country is now open for international travels.
Entry requirements:
- Vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- All tourists must present a QR code that can be obtained through the Spain Travel Health Portal
Thailand
Thailand is open for tourism again for vaccinated travelers.
Entry requirements:
- Negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at least 3 days prior to arrival in the country
- Vaccine passport or a vaccine certificate, showing that the last dose was taken at least 14 days before entering the country
- Upon arrival, vaccinated visitors must observe a 7-day hotel quarantine while the unvaccinated must undergo a 10-day hotel quarantine
- Insurance that covers COVID-19
- Certificate of Entry issued by Thai Embassy
- Proof of booking at Hotel in Phuket
- Pre-paid RT-PCR COVID-19

Maybe getting fully vaccinated is really beneficial. Not only does it help us protect ourselves from the virus, but it also helps us reach far—literally, to different places worldwide!
There already have been numerous countries on that list but hopefully, it’ll expand until all countries are now open to tourism. Talk about freedom and health! Most importantly, don't forget to invest in travel insurance to have a peace of mind.
