Mar 20, 2022

Everyone loves to have a beautiful place to live in. Be it a mansion or a loft or a condominium, as much as it gives us the warmth when we need it, it will always be such a lovely home. Sometimes, people opt to live in studio-type condo units that may seem so small when talked about its area but liveable enough for single young people to a small family.

One thing that we cannot control n this developing society is the continuous industrialization and commercialization of many areas most especially in the urban land and communities. This is a very great factor that we can observe in a growing economy. With this, many jobs are opened and offered in these areas became the main reason for the migration of many young people and families. And with these migrations, looking for places to live in is always in demand in these areas. Some who got their first had great opportunities for bigger places. But for those who might be looking for it just now or recently, you may not have many options but with studio-type condo units.

What is a studio-type apartment?

A studio apartment is generally a self-contained space that houses everything in a single room with a separate bathroom.

These apartments usually max out at a total of 600 square feet but can get as small as 300 square feet. The smaller the space, the more creative you'll become in finding storage and places for all your things. Most people hire for some professional advice for interior designers to have an extra hand in making their place efficient and cozy for everyday living. But for those who are on a tight budget and want to do your do-it-yourself plans and executions, it is also very much advised and encouraged.

Fixing and arranging your things may take time and you have to remember that you are not in a rush. Most especially when you are a working individual and you think you can just move and arrange your things when you got home or when it is the weekend. Also if you are on a budget, you might wanna but the necessary stuff one step at a time.

Furniture and equipment are some of the most necessary stuff you cannot forget in your home. But as necessary as it may seem, there will always be a type of them that will just suit your home suite home.

Tips to make your small studio type comfortable yet aesthetic

Start decluttering.

They say that the first step is always the hardest and this one is really a good example. Decluttering is really really hard, especially for people who are very sentimental and attached to every stuff they have in their life.  Decluttering means letting go of things that are no longer needed or necessary for everyday living. It can be a shirt that you no longer use for such a very long time, notebooks that you've owned from your university days, mugs that you never wanna use, and many other things that you are really unsure whether you are to still keep it or let it go.

Most of the time they are souvenirs from a party you're invited to, shirts you used with your favorite buddies, your favorite shoes or shoelace you no longer use, and many other things that you just stock up your cabinets with but you doesn't seem to be noticed for more than months now. These things may give you doubt whether you have to keep them or not. But if you are so reluctant because you really think they are very important to you, you can give them some donation drive that will give it more purpose.

After you do this step and conquer your sentiments once, you'll never realize but you will eventually enjoy doing it seeing that they can free so much space in your place.

Learn to live small.

Living in studio-type condo units will teach us to live small. Always remember that you should only buy things that you need. You don't really need to catch a promotional discount sale where you can save some penny buying half a dozen of the plate when you only need a couple or two. You don't need to hoard your favorite product especially when you are living alone or with a small company. This will not just reserve space for more important use in your cabinets but will also add some savings to your budget.

Consider multipurpose dividers

Some of the beautiful antique ones and some of the minimalist style. Whichever your preference is, as long as it serves its purpose in holding your stuff in order, it will be a very great choice. But if you are living in a studio-type condo unit, spaces are of the essence. Even in small spaces, we always want to keep our things separate. We want our living room separated from our dining area and from our kitchen. It may be with a bar, an island, or a divider. For you to save really good space, you can look for a cabinet that can serve as your divider at the same time. A little slimmer than a usual cabinet but one than has spaces where you can pile your books and mugs up. If you are having a new design or idea in your mind, you can look for a furniture contractor to make it for you. It may cost you a little more than usual, but it can give you the space and style that you want.

Make use of all the spaces

Living in a studio condo unit, you should always be observant of the spaces you may still use. For example, you can make the bottom of your bed storage for your clothes. You can use also put a hanging cabinet if you have an empty aerial space in your room or kitchen.

These are just some of the tips you can consider in using all your spaces in your studio-type home more efficiently and beautifully.
