Why You Should Get 2nd Booster Shot for COVID-19

May 23, 2022

The Philippines has been greatly suffering from the given pandemic situation. It has brought many challenges like deaths, financial crises, and increased poverty. COVID-19 is immensely crucial with cases that disrupt our daily routines. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed long-standing knowledge and understanding gaps in infection management among frontline healthcare workers. The amount of preparedness that the government has been giving the country is volatile and entirely unreliable, especially for those in dire need.

Infectious illness problems concerning Ebola, COVID-19, and drug resistance will persist if given measurements are not up to standards or are not being followed. It is now more critical than ever to provide our nation's healthcare workforce with infection control information. They require to safeguard themselves, their patients, and their communities—to eradicate the said problems and give the necessary aid that the country is hoping for.

As we go in line with our third year into our COVID-19 situation, we saw the total brutality of its kind in damaging our lives for its importance. We saw what truly transpired to what our life has come and what our lives would be able to foresee. The government has been aiding the country by giving multiple types of vaccines entrusting everyone to commemorate the given task fully. The target of the vaccine is to have herd immunity in which we can portray the given CoronaVirus in affecting a patient. Unfortunately, the virus is highly adaptive, and we saw how it could create multiple variants in a couple of months which is why it is tough to do so, but not impossible. Thus being said, we shall not lose hope in trying to portray our ways to further correct and prevent the given state of our country.

A few different forms of vaccines are currently available in the Philippines. Still, all are preventive and effective, so no matter what kind and brand, we must be able to take a complete dose to ensure our safety fully. The most common vaccines are Pfizer, CoronaVac, Covaxin, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, AstraZeneca, etc.

The Pfizer COVID-19 is produced by BioNTech in which they are to sustain the patient in being a viable host in the said virus. The Pfizer vaccine has its side effects and effectiveness rate as any vaccine does. The side effects of Pfizer are headache, joint aches, muscle aches, pain and swelling at the injection site, tiredness, chills, and fever. As said before, all vaccines are effective but shall encompass a different percentage of effectiveness depending on the patient. Pfizer has gathered a 95% effectiveness rate.

The Johnson & Johnson company has also produced its COVID-19 vaccine entitled Johnson & Johnson. Like any vaccine, the Pfizer vaccine has its side effects and effectiveness rate vaccine as any vaccine does have its side effects and effectiveness rate. The side effects of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are significantly lesser than others, like Pain or tenderness at the injection site, redness, swelling, and fever. As said before, all vaccines are effective but shall encompass a different percentage of effectiveness depending on the patient. Johnson & Johnson vaccine has gathered a 66.9% effectiveness rate.

The Moderna is also another produced COVID-19 vaccine. The Moderna vaccine, like any vaccine, does have its own side effects and effectiveness rate vaccine as any vaccine does have its own side effects and effectiveness rate. The side effects of the Moderna vaccine are significantly lesser than others, like pain, swelling, or redness at the injection site, tiredness, headache, muscle or joint aches, chills, nausea and vomiting, underarm swelling, and fever. As said before, all vaccines are effective but shall encompass a different percentage of effectiveness depending on the patient. The Moderna vaccine has gathered a 94.1% effectiveness rate.

While the Astrazeneca vaccine is meddling with these side effects, the most common side effects are pain or tenderness at the injection site, headache, tiredness, muscle or joint aches, fever, chills, and nausea. Now, as said before that all vaccines are effective but shall encompass a different percentage of effectiveness depending on the patient. The Moderna vaccine has gathered a 63% effectiveness rate.

The given effectiveness differentiates the said vaccines, but all are entitled to protect you from the CoronaVirus. The vaccine also differs in the amounts of shots given, some are one-time shots, but others are given in two dosages. With that being said, all vaccines should be paired with the given booster shot further to enclose the given effectivity rate of the vaccines.

As we go into our third year, most Filipinos are set to be vaccinated, but there is still a long way to go. The amplified effect of the vaccines has been paired with the first shot of the booster vaccine, and now. Everyone is urged to renew and revitalize strength of the overall effectiveness of the vaccines by having 2nd shot of booster.
