New Year’s Resolutions to Live by While Inside your Condo

Jan 31, 2021

The year 2021 has already dawned upon us and it’s the perfect time to make use of this fresh start to begin making your own New Year’s Resolutions list. More than a month has already passed since the year started, but it is never too late to start improving yourself.

How can you do this? You can start by listing down the things about yourself or anything that is part of your regular routine that you think still has room for improvement. Whether it is about your financial and professional goals, relationships, condo living, health and fitness as well as fun and adventure, you have to set your targets and make sure you hit them this year.

Here are some of the things that you could add to your New Year’s Resolutions list that might help kick start your year on a positive note.

Set goals for yourself that are achievable within the year

This might seem like an obvious one, but it’s really important especially now that the year has just started. Yes, we have all probably done this at one point in our lives, but maybe this time you could limit the ‘deadline’ to the end of the year.

You can start by first creating a main goal and then insert respective short-term ‘mini’ goals or tasks that will help you achieve your main goal. These small but attainable goals will not only motivate you throughout the process, but they can be also be helpful in checking you from time-to-time if you are still headed towards your desired direction.

You can apply this principle by learning how to declutter your condo space. It does not need to be as painful as some make it out to be. You can start 5 minutes at a time. If you are new to decluttering, you can slowly build momentum with just five minutes a day. Another thing you can do is to view your condo as a first-time visitor. Try to enter your condo as if you are visiting the condo of a friend. Write down your first impression on the cleanliness of the place and how organized the condo unit is and make the necessary changes.

Live a healthier lifestyle

Health covers a wide array of topics from physical fitness to your own mental fortitude.

For physical fitness, try dedicating a day or two for a quick work out. It is kind of normal that we get too busy with our respective responsibilities, be it at work or in school. Nevertheless, a quick workout in your condo even as short as 20 minutes (which is very doable) is already a big step towards becoming more fit.

In fact, exercise helps the body release endorphins or the hormones that simply put, helps make you happy, and relieving you from stress and pain and helping you improve your mental health. Just try to not procrastinate and postpone your scheduled workout this time (trust us, we have all been there).

One of the many perks of living in a Vista Residences condominium is that you can get to enjoy the different amenities for free which include the fitness gym and swimming pool that can help you achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Minimize expenses

Yes, some might have probably already been doing this for years but a lot of people have seen the value of minimizing expenses especially now that we are living in a time of uncertainty, unfortunately brought by the pandemic. Whatever methods or techniques you’ve done to save up before, now is the time to step them up a little.

Were you used to regularly buy coffee or beverages from your nearby favorite coffee shop? This is a big no-no.  Maybe once in a while is fine, like when you want to reward yourself, but if for example if you’re a heavy coffee drinker, you can opt to make the beverage yourself in your condo.

Researching recipes online and buying cheaper separate ingredients from your local grocery store, like AllDay Supermarket, is a good alternative if you’re looking to save funds in the long run.

This is also applicable to food wherein you can opt to prepare your food weekly and try cooking on your own in the condo instead of regularly taking out from your favorite restaurants. If cooking is not your strength, this could be a perfect opportunity for you to learn.

There are a lot of easy-to-prepare recipes and even condo-friendly meal plan available online that you can check out.

These are just some examples on how you could save money without compromising your health based on your daily routine but there are still a lot that you can do to cut expenses like controlling the urge to shop unnecessarily online, purchasing or upgrading your gadgets only when you absolutely need to, and the list goes on.

2020 has been a quite challenging year for everyone due to the pandemic and other unfortunate events as well. However, this does not mean that you cannot do anything to make yourself more ‘future-ready’. We have a whole new year ahead of us and there are plenty of things that you could start doing to make that happen. If you are already doing the things that we have just suggested, then all good. Just do not forget that no matter how adequate you may be, there is always room for improvement.

These resolutions can be a condo dweller’s guide in independent and responsible condo living this 2021. You may track your progress monthly or quarterly and do not forget to reward yourself as you progress. This will make this journey more motivating and more fulfilling.
